In 1999 I was commissioned by Paris Ceramics Ltd to design and make a pair of Desks for their showrooms in New York and Los Angeles. The brief was to produce a Desk relatively "see through" to ease viewing of the stone floor beneath, to have a modern feel and incorporate their logo. The designs are influenced by Gerrit Rietveld, the Dutch maestro from the 20's. The timber is exquisite Birds Eye Maple inlayed with fossilized limestone. The structure is enhanced with Laser Cut stainless steel. |

The operators side of the desk with 2 drawers. These were a late addition and a compromise between form and function.

Side elevation showing the 4mm thick Laser Cut stainless steel figures. These are images from their logo and incorporated into the design as part of the structure rather than the all too obvious logo stencil on the top. |

Although the chair is designed to go with the above desks, this one illustrated is covered in a very sexy orange fashion leather from Sweden. Wonderfully tactile. |

This Sideboard is made in highly rippled English Sycamore with bronze handles. Designed for a Client in France to go alongside a Blue Tricentre Table, it houses cutlery within 2 drawers. |
